The Jamal-ud-Din Hansvi Dargah is an important religious site situated in Hansi, Haryana, India. It is dedicated to Sheikh Jamal-ud-Din Ahmad, a renowned Sufi saint and spiritual successor of Baba Fariduddin Ganjshakar. Sheikh Jamal-ud-Din was born in Ghazni (modern-day Afghanistan) in 583 AH and later settled in Hansi, where he became a disciple of Baba Farid. Throughout his life, Sheikh Jamal-ud-Din demonstrated immense devotion to his spiritual path, abandoning material wealth and embracing poverty. His dedication to his teacher, Baba Farid, earned him a revered place in Sufi circles. It is said that Baba Farid held Sheikh Jamal-ud-Din in high regard, so much so that he entrusted him with the responsibility of overseeing spiritual matters during his lifetime. Sheikh Jamal-ud-Din Ahmad passed away on the 12th of Shaban, 659 AH, at the age of 76. His tomb in Hansi has become a significant site of pilgrimage, attracting followers and devotees seeking spiritual solace. The dargah is particularly known for the annual observance of his urs, which was revived in 1961 after the Partition of India. The shrine remains a symbol of spiritual devotion, and its visitors come to honor the saint's legacy and partake in the religious observances conducted there. The dargah also houses the tombs of other notable Sufi saints, including those of the Qutabs.
