The location is approximately 850 meters southwest of the Chirag Delhi bus stand, accessible via Chirag Delhi Bazar Wali Gali, and about 500 meters southwest of the Chirag Delhi metro station. It lies at the center of the southern side of Chirag Delhi village. The nearest airport is Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport, and the closest railway station is Nizamuddin.
This tomb, dating back to the Lodi period, holds significant architectural and historical importance. It is the burial site of two Pathan brothers, Khawaaja Shafruddin Ali Ahmed and Khawaaja Fakruddin Ali Ahmed, who were the Khalifas of the renowned Sufi saint Khawaaja Nassiruddin Roshan Chirag-e-Dehlavi. The local tradition also holds that the tomb is associated with the Sufi saint himself. The tomb is an example of the Lodi architectural style, characterized by its simplicity and grandeur. The structure is square in plan, measuring 5.35 square meters, with a domed roof that adds to its majestic appearance. It is supported by twelve grey stone pillars that hold up a hemispherical plastered dome. The dome sits on a high octagonal drum, which is adorned with a decorative Kangura battlement, adding to the aesthetic appeal. A final crown finishes off the dome, symbolizing the structure's elevated status. Surrounding the tomb is a Chhajja, a type of overhanging eaves supported by stone brackets that offer both structural support and protection from the elements. On the north and east facades of the tomb, an ornamental row of arched-shaped panels runs across the openings, contributing to the building's decorative appeal. Inside the structure, two plaster gravestones are placed in the center, surrounded by a low enclosure made of marble, highlighting the reverence for those buried within. The building is primarily constructed using rubble masonry as its core material, with plaster used for finishing the structure. Although the structure's exterior is finished in white paint, red sandstone was originally used, but it is now hidden beneath the layers of paint. This combination of materials and decorative elements reflects the architectural style of the period, blending functionality with intricate design.
