Pahar Masjid

Pahar Masjid

The location is approximately 850 meters to the south-west of Chirag Delhi bus stand, accessible via Chirag Delhi Bazar Wali Gali. It is also situated about 500 meters to the south-west of Chirag Delhi metro station, with the entry from Nala Road, at the center of the south side of Chirag Delhi village. The nearest airport is IGI, while the nearest railway station is Nizamuddin, providing convenient connectivity to this area

The mosque is a significant architectural site built in the Lodi style, which was designed with a rectangular plan measuring 26.5 meters by 11.6 meters. Although it is incomplete, the structure showcases the distinct features of Lodi architecture. The building lacks external domes, which were never finished, and instead has small projecting galleries above the apex of the arches located at the corner sides. The mosque is surrounded by an enclosure wall, the remnants of which can still be seen on the northern side. Constructed using rubble masonry, the building is coated with plaster to maintain its structure. Despite its original purpose as a mosque, the space has been encroached upon by modern high-rise structures on all sides and is now repurposed as a residential unit. The mosque consists of three bays, which are sealed, further indicating the unfinished nature of the structure.
