Shahi Jamia Masjid is a historic and architecturally prominent mosque located on PN Road in the Old Town area of Adoni, Kurnool district, Andhra Pradesh. It was constructed in 1683 CE by Sidi Masud Khan, the Governor of Adoni under the Bijapur Sultanate, when Adoni was an important Deccan administrative center. Spread over nearly 10 acres, the mosque is among the largest in South India and can accommodate around 1,000 worshippers. Local tradition holds that the courtyard area is equal in size to the Kaaba in Mecca, enhancing its spiritual significance. Architecturally, the mosque features grand arched entrances, distinctive hanging iron chains on both minarets, and fifteen black stone slabs engraved with Arabic and Persian inscriptions, reflecting strong Iranian and Deccan influences. The complex also houses the Masoodia Arabic High School, continuing its legacy as a center of religious education.
