The site is located approximately 1.5 kilometers southeast of the JLN Stadium Metro Station and just 50 meters southeast of the JLN Stadium Bus Stand, situated on Bhishma Pitamah Marg. Entry to the site is through Gate No. 1. It is conveniently accessible, with the nearest airport being Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport and Nizamuddin Railway Station serving as the closest railhead. Additionally, Nizamuddin Bus Stand is the nearest bus station, providing ease of connectivity.
Brief History: The structure is an exquisite example of late Mughal architecture. It is identified as a tomb, although no additional traditional or historical information about its origin or association is available. Architectural Style: The architectural style of the structure is distinctly Mughal. Description of the Building/Structure/Site: The building is a remarkable domed structure, rectangular in its layout, measuring 6.75 meters by 3.9 meters. The entrance is through a pointed arch gateway located on the eastern side. The structure gives the impression of being double-storied. The octagonal domed superstructure is built upon a rectangular chamber that has a flat roof. The western side of the building is closed and features a mihrab, indicative of its religious function. Window-like openings are present on the northern and southern sides, while a staircase in the southeast corner provides access to the roof. On the roof, there is an octagonal domed pavilion with pointed arch openings on each of the eight faces. The exterior is adorned with decorative Kanguras (battlement-like motifs) along the drum wall, and the dome is crowned with a lotus cresting, adding to its aesthetic appeal. Notably, the tomb does not contain a grave. Building/Structure Materials and Other Components: The structure is primarily constructed using rubble masonry and local stone, finished with plaster. This combination of materials ensures durability while also contributing to the simplicity and elegance of the architectural design.
