The dargah was established in 1683 CE by the renowned Sufi saints Syed Shah Peerullah Hussaini and Syed Arifullah Hussaini II. Widely known as the “Ajmer of South India,” the shrine symbolizes deep-rooted communal harmony, as devotees from all religions—Muslims, Hindus, Christians, and others—visit the dargah seeking peace, blessings, and spiritual solace. Over centuries, the shrine has become a spiritual landmark of Kadapa and a powerful symbol of unity beyond religious boundaries. Historically, Ameen Peer Dargah gained widespread fame due to the Sufi teachings of love, compassion, and service propagated by the saints associated with it. Popular belief holds that no devotee leaves the dargah empty-handed, and many visitors come with faith in miracles, healing, and fulfillment of wishes. The shrine is closely associated with cultural and social life in the region and has attracted national attention due to visits by prominent political leaders and film personalities, including musicians and actors from Bollywood, Tollywood, and Kollywood. The annual Urs and Sandal festivals are major spiritual events, drawing lakhs of pilgrims from across Andhra Pradesh and other parts of India, making the dargah an important center of Sufi heritage and living tradition.
