Brief History There is no significant historical information available about the origins or construction of the mosque. Local/Traditional Description The mosque continues to serve as an active place of worship where regular prayers and important religious ceremonies are conducted. Architectural Style The mosque is built in the Tughlaq architectural style, characteristic of the Delhi Sultanate period. Description of the Building/Structure/Site The mosque has a rectangular layout. Its prayer chamber measures approximately 12.65 meters in length and 4.87 meters in width. The chamber consists of three bays, each roofed by a dome. The central dome is fluted, giving it an onion-shaped appearance, which is a distinctive feature of the architectural style of the period. Adjacent to the mosque, there is another structure in a deteriorated state. This building, possibly part of the original design, is believed to have functioned as a majlis khana (a hall for gatherings). Presently, this structure is being used as a madarsa (Islamic school). The outer facade of the mosque is adorned with Kangura battlements, a decorative feature common in Tughlaq architecture. Structure Material and Other Components The mosque is constructed using rubble masonry up to the plinth level, while the upper portions of the structure incorporate modern brick masonry coated with cement plaster. These materials reflect a blend of traditional construction techniques and later renovations or repairs.
