Historical Significance Original Purpose: The Kothi was constructed as the personal residence of Mohammad Hussain Khan. Royal Connection: The magnificence of the Kothi captured the admiration of Nawab Wajid Ali Shah, the last Nawab of Awadh. He renamed it ?Qaise Pasand? and turned it into the residence of his beloved Begum, Mashooq Mahal. During British Rule: The Kothi served as the District Court, earning the title Roshan-ud-Daulah Kutchehry. Present-Day Use: Today, it houses the District Election Office and the State Archaeology Directorate, preserving its legacy as an administrative hub.
