Fatima Bi's historical background remains quite unclear, with little known about her life. However, local tradition suggests that she was a pious woman, likely associated with the Sufi sect, and was buried at this site. The grave attracts devotees who offer prayers, sweets, and flowers as part of their rituals. Women, in particular, visit the site to light earthen lamps during special occasions, in accordance with the local customs. The structure itself is a remarkable example of Lodi architecture, originally serving as a gateway to an enclosed area with rare, contiguous buildings. The central part of the gateway is topped with a flat dome, while the two sides feature vaulted roofs. These vaulted roofs are supported by squinches at the corners, a characteristic of Indo-Muslim architectural design. The gateway's fascia is adorned with Quranic verses and intricate geometric patterns, reflecting the Islamic influence. The spandrel, or the space between the arch and the ceiling, is decorated with vibrant circular medallions that add a pop of color and ornamentation. Inside the building, the walls and ceilings are adorned with detailed calligraphy, floral designs, and geometric patterns, showcasing the intricate craftsmanship of the time. On the northern side of the building, three graves are situated in parallel on a raised platform, indicating the importance of this location as a burial site. The building?s most prominent decorative features include the stunning relief work and the exquisite painting on both the walls and the ceiling, which contribute to its overall aesthetic appeal. The structure is constructed using rubble masonry, coated with plaster to give it a smooth finish. The use of these materials, along with the architectural design, reflects the fusion of Indo-Islamic architectural elements that were prevalent during the Lodi period, highlighting the cultural and religious blend that characterizes the era.
