The Sultani Masjid, originally constructed during the Lodi period, is a mosque with a rich architectural and historical significance. The mosque is rectangular in plan and built using rubble masonry, coated with plaster. The structure sits on a raised platform of approximately 1.22 meters in height. Its courtyard spans around 21 square meters, providing a central open space. The western wall of the mosque features a series of seven mihrab recesses, which are complemented by short return walls on both the north and south sides, while the corners are marked by two low bastions. The prayer chamber is characterized by five bays in width and one bay in depth, with pointed arched openings. The central mihrab, which is the focal point of the prayer area, is beautifully adorned with foliated arched recesses in relief, highlighting its prominence in the prayer hall. The eastern wall of the mosque?s courtyard is flanked by attached wings, with the same bastion-like corners as the western wall. Corresponding to the seven arched recesses on the inner western wall, the outer western wall features five pointed arched openings. A notable feature of the structure is the partially buried western original intact wall, which is visible only from the rear of the mosque. The parapet of this wall is decorated with a kangura battlement and intricate decorative mouldings, adding to the mosque?s architectural richness. While the original construction materials predominantly consist of rubble masonry and plaster, modern alterations have been made with brick masonry, cement plaster, and concrete. The mosque continues to be a place of regular prayer and religious ceremonies, holding cultural and spiritual significance for the local community.
