The mosque was constructed by two women, Bibi Sahiba and Khanam Sahiba, under the supervision of Mirza Majjhu. It was originally known as Mir Afzal's Mosque. The mosque is still used for regular prayers and other significant religious ceremonies. Architecturally, the mosque follows the Mughal style, characterized by elegant and intricate design elements. The structure is a two-storeyed building with a large courtyard on the ground floor. The prayer chamber is divided into three compartments, accessible by a flight of three steps. The mosque is marked by three arched entrances, with the main entrance featuring a striking cusped arch, followed by pointed arch openings. The entrance is supported by solid walls, and the parapet is adorned with a battlement design, called "kangura," crafted in plaster work. An inscription on a loose piece of red sandstone within the mosque provides historical details, stating that the mosque was completed in the month of Rajab in the year 1221 A.H., under the supervision of Mirza Majjhu. The inscription notes the involvement of Bibi Sahiba, the mother of Ali Ahmed Sajjada of Fathpur, and Khanam Sahiba, the mother of Mirza Rahim Beg Khan. Regarding construction materials, the mosque's original foundation is made from rubble masonry up to the plinth level, while the remaining parts of the structure are constructed using Lakhori brick masonry set in lime mortar. The building is finished with lime plaster for smoothness and aesthetic appeal. Modern materials were used in subsequent additions and extensions to the mosque. Red sandstone was employed as a structural material, particularly for the roofing and some sections of the flooring, with the rest of the floor featuring marble. The blend of traditional and modern materials showcases the mosque's historical significance and architectural grandeur.
