Shaikh Usman Saiyah was a disciple of Ruknuddin Abul Fath, who was the grandson of Shaikh Bahauddin of Multan. Shaikh Usman was a contemporary of the revered saint Roshan Chiragh Delhi. Known for his deep passion for travel, he earned the title of "Saiyah," which means traveler. His extensive journeys were a defining characteristic of his life and spiritual path. The structure associated with Shaikh Usman Saiyah was originally used as a tomb. The architectural style of the tomb is Tughlaq, a style characteristic of the Tughlaq dynasty in medieval India, known for its robustness and use of large, geometric shapes. The building is a massive domed structure with a square plan. It is constructed using rubble masonry, which is rough and uncut stone, and is coated with plaster. The tomb's entrance is through a small gateway, leading into the core of the structure. The dome of the tomb is supported by a low octagonal drum, which is further supported internally by squinches (architectural elements used to transition from a square or polygonal base to a circular dome). These squinches are painted in white and gold, adding a touch of elegance to the interior. The parapet and the drum feature a distinctive Kangura design, a decorative pattern commonly found in Tughlaq architecture. The structure appears to be partially buried due to the surrounding ground level being raised over time. This partially submerged state may have contributed to the preservation of the tomb, which remains a significant example of Tughlaq architectural heritage. The primary materials used in the construction of this tomb are random rubble masonry and local stone, both of which were readily available in the area. The building is coated with plaster, adding to its durability and aesthetic appeal.
