Kasmuru Dargah is one of the most revered Sufi shrines in Andhra Pradesh, situated in Kasumuru Village, about 25–26 km west of Nellore in SPSR Nellore District. The shrine is dedicated to Hazrat Syed Kareem Ulla Shah Qadri (RA), popularly known as Kale Shah Peer Mastan Vali Baba (RA) or Kasumuru Masthanayya. Belonging to the Qadiriyya Sufi order, the saint is deeply venerated by devotees from Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and other parts of India. The dargah is renowned for its spiritual atmosphere and is visited by people of all faiths seeking blessings, healing, and inner peace. History According to local tradition, Hazrat Syed Kareem Ulla Shah Qadri (RA) was a distinguished Sufi saint and is believed to have been a peer-bhai (disciple of the same spiritual master) of Hazrat Haji Syed Khwaja Rahmatullah Nayab-e-Rasool (RA) of Rahmatabad. Although written historical records about his life are limited, devotees believe that he possessed extraordinary spiritual powers (karāmāt). Tradition states that at the time of his visāl (passing away), he miraculously instructed the earth to open, entered it himself, and then commanded it to close. The present mazar (tomb) is believed to mark that sacred spot. It is also believed that the saint spent much of his life in meditation in nearby caves, which continue to attract pilgrims. Urs Shareef (Sandal Festival) The annual Urs Shareef (Sandal Festival) is celebrated on the 26th of Rabi' al-Awwal every year. Thousands of devotees gather at the dargah to participate in Qur'anic recitation, dhikr (remembrance of Allah), sandal procession, special prayers, and distribution of langar (community meals). The Sandal ceremony is traditionally performed just before the dawn (Fajr) prayer and is one of the most important religious events in the region.
