The Chihaltan Chihalman is a historic graveyard known for housing the graves of 46 revered Muhammadan saints, collectively referred to as the Abdals. In Sufi theology, Abdals hold a significant spiritual status, as they are believed to be divinely appointed by Allah to sustain the world's existence through their spiritual influence. This site, deeply rooted in Islamic mysticism, continues to be a place of religious importance where regular prayers and significant religious ceremonies take place at the dargah. Architecturally, the site reflects the Lodi style, characterized by its simplicity and structural robustness. The graveyard is accessible via a staircase located at its north-east corner, leading to a sacred space containing 46 plaster-covered graves. Among these, the most prominent is the grave of Sayyid Kabiruddin Auliya, situated in the north-west corner. This particular grave measures approximately 2.34 square meters in area and stands at a height of 0.48 meters. A brick masonry chamber is erected at the south-west corner of the graveyard. This structure serves a dual purpose, functioning both as a religious space and as a dwelling house. The entire graveyard, including the graves and the chamber, is constructed using brick masonry and finished with a layer of cement plaster, ensuring structural integrity and durability. The use of traditional materials in its construction is indicative of the architectural practices prevalent during the Lodi period.
