There is no significant historical information available regarding the mosque. Local / Traditional Description Associated with the Built Heritage / Site The mosque continues to serve as an important religious site for the local community. Regular prayers are held here, along with other significant religious ceremonies and gatherings. Architectural Style The mosque exhibits the Lodi architectural style, characterized by its simplicity, robustness, and use of locally available materials. The architectural elements reflect the style commonly seen in structures from the Lodi period. Description of the Building / Structure / Site The mosque is a wall-type structure, which means that its primary architectural feature is its connection to the surrounding courtyard. The western Qibla wall, an essential element in mosque design, is built with five mihrab recesses. The central mihrab is particularly significant as it is enclosed with religious inscriptions incised in plaster. The spandrels of the arches are decorated with medallions in incised plaster, while inscribed niches are positioned between the mihrabs, adding to the artistic and religious significance of the structure. Originally, the north and south return walls had one-arched openings, allowing access or ventilation, but these have since been walled off. The mosque is primarily constructed using rubble masonry, which has been plastered over to provide a finished appearance. A tin sheet roof has been added in recent years, partially covering the extended verandah to offer protection from weather conditions. Building / Structure Materials and Other Components The mosque is built using a combination of random rubble masonry, plastered surfaces, sandstone, and local grey stone. These materials were commonly used during the Lodi period, reflecting the construction techniques of that time.
