The name "Talkatora" is derived from the words tal, meaning pond, and katora, meaning bowl, as the site originally featured a garden with an artificial lake that resembled a bowl. Architectural Style The structure follows an Indo-Persian architectural style. Description of the Building/Structure/Site The site consists of two pavilions, connected by an embankment wall with attached staircases. Adjacent to each pavilion is a recessed arched doorway. The complex includes a double-storeyed domed structure enclosed by an octagonal wall. The main structure above this wall is adorned with a series of brackets supporting a cornice. Above the cornice, there is a majestic dome resting on a drum, topped with an inverted lotus design. The surrounding area features arched gateways and an adjoining fortification wall, creating a historically significant environment. Building/Structure Materials Basement: Made of rubble stone masonry Walls: Constructed using red sandstone, Lakori bricks, and lime mortar, with a cement-plastered finish.
