Shahi Masjid Built By Roshan-Ud-Daula

Approximately 1 km south of Badarpur Sarai Metro Station Airport: IGI Airport Railway Station: Hazrat Nizamuddin Bus Station: ISBT Kashmere Gate

This mosque was originally part of a Sarai (inn) built by Roshan-ud-Daula. The architectural style is Indo-Persian, combining elements from both Indian and Persian traditions. The structure has an L-shaped facade. The left wing features an open hall supported by two pillars. Above it, on the first floor, are three ribbed domes, the central one being larger than the two on either side. Each dome is topped with an inverted lotus and a finial, along with multiple decorative urns. On either side of the smaller domes stand two slender minarets, each crowned with a finial. The right wing of the mosque serves as the priest's residential quarters and has two separate entrances. The building is constructed using bricks and cement, finished with lime plaster. Local stone has also been used in various parts of the structure.
