The structure, commonly known as Lal Masjid, is located immediately north of the mausoleum of Hazrat Arif Ali Shah. It was built during the reign of the last Mughal emperor, Bahadur Shah Zafar. The mosque is still actively used for religious purposes, making it a living heritage site. Architecturally, it follows the Mughal style and is constructed on a rectangular plan measuring 8.66 meters by 4.36 meters. The mosque is three bays wide and one bay deep. Entry is through the central multi-foliated archway, now fitted with a wooden door, while the corner bays are blocked. Each of the three compartments is topped with a double dome featuring a bulbous outer dome. The western Qibla wall has three mihrab recesses, with the central one highlighted by a raised wall. The mosque’s interiors are richly decorated in green and white, contrasting with the modest red and white exterior. The building materials used include Lakhori brick masonry faced with stone, local stone, and ceramic tiles.
