During the revolt of 1857, these buildings served as storehouses for ammunition used by the East India Company. Following the uprising, they were eventually abandoned. According to the collective memory of the local people, after the 1857 revolt in Delhi, some Europeans sought refuge here for a night. The structure is built in the Colonial architectural style and stands on a circular platform. It features an octagonal central chamber topped by a shallow dome. Above the dome is a canopied structure supported by bars. The entrance is designed as a barrel-vaulted passage adorned with geometric patterns, forming openings on both sides. Though parts of the structure have deteriorated over time, alcoves and concentric circular openings are still visible. Pilasters are placed alternately between the alcoves and concentric patterns, adding to the architectural character of the building.
