This intriguing brick structure, built during the British period in the Salimgarh Fort area, served as a prison building. Constructed in a rectangular plan, it features an arched entrance that leads to multiple cells of varying sizes, connected by a narrow gallery. The structure is a significant example of colonial architecture and holds immense historical value, having witnessed important events such as the INA Trials of 1945. Notably, General Mohan Singh was held in solitary confinement in one of its cells. The building is made of lakhori bricks with lime plaster, while the floors are finished with cement and the doors are crafted from wood. Despite the absence of any known local or traditional associations, the site remains an important monument layered with historical significance.
