The Afsarwala Mosque and Tomb are historical Mughal-era monuments located within the Humayun’s Tomb complex in Delhi, India. Built around 1560–1567 CE, these structures are believed to commemorate a high-ranking military officer—possibly of Persian origin, as suggested by the name "Afsarwala," derived from the word Afsar meaning "officer." The mosque features three arched entrances and is constructed with red sandstone and white marble, showcasing the distinct aesthetics of early Mughal architecture. Adjacent to it lies the tomb, built on an octagonal plan and crowned with a double dome, also made from red sandstone with marble detailing. Though the exact identity of the individual buried there remains uncertain, the architectural elegance suggests he was a person of significant status. Today, the site is part of the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Humayun’s Tomb complex and stands as a serene, historically rich location visited by tourists and heritage enthusiasts alike.
