The mosque, built in the Mughal architectural style, holds significant historical and religious importance. Nijabat Ali Khan was the first Nawab of Jhajjar, and he was granted this principality in jagir by Lord Lake. Regular prayers and important religious ceremonies continue to be held at the mosque, reflecting its ongoing cultural relevance. The structure is rectangular in plan, consisting of three bays divided into three compartments, with the central bay being the most prominent and accessed through an arched entrance. The western wall features three mihrab recesses, and the pulpit is crafted from marble. The ceiling, now extended with concrete, is decorated with plaster of Paris, and the mosque’s verandah is supported by pillars. A marble headstone marks the grave of Faiz Muhammad Khan, bearing an inscription that begins with the Muhammadan creed and poetically expresses the sorrow caused by the Nawab’s passing. The building is constructed using random rubble, bricks, local stone, cement, and concrete.
