The mosque is named after Wafati Shah, a mendicant who once lived in Mehrauli and resided in the structure. Architecturally, it follows the Mughal style. The mosque comprises a prayer chamber flanked by side rooms on the north and south. The building measures approximately 10.64 meters by 3.96 meters and is topped with a Bengal-style dome adorned with an inverted lotus cresting. It is constructed using rubble masonry and finished with a layer of plaster. There is no specific local or traditional description associated with this heritage site.
