This lost monument in Mehrauli, Delhi, is a Baoli (stepwell) mentioned in Maulvi Zafar Hasan's book as having been built during the reign of Emperor Aurangzeb. Unfortunately, beyond this reference, there is little to no information available about the site's history or significance. The Baoli was located to the west of Zafar Mahal and was an impressive structure, featuring three levels and measuring approximately 130 feet in length and 36 feet in width. The circular well within the Baoli had a diameter of 30 feet. Today, the site of this historic stepwell has been completely transformed—what once may have been a serene and functional water structure is now an uphill road lined with houses, shops, and warehouses, erasing nearly all physical traces of its existence.
