Revered as the main congregational mosque for Sunni Muslims in the region, it serves as a symbol of unity, devotion, and cultural identity. Founded in the mid-20th century, this masjid was envisioned by community elders as a central place where the diverse Sunni population could gather for major prayers and religious guidance. Over the decades, through generous donations and community leadership, the mosque has grown—both in physical structure and in spiritual stature. The mosque’s architecture reflects Indo-Islamic influences, with a grand entrance, multiple arches, and a prominent central dome flanked by twin minarets that rise above the busy market below. Its elegant green and white color scheme, along with Qur’anic calligraphy inscribed on entrance panels, makes it stand out amidst the surrounding shops and buildings. The main prayer hall is large, carpeted, and airy, accommodating 300 to 400 worshippers at full capacity.
