The Oriya Bazaar Mosque in Cuttack stands as an important architectural and religious site. According to its inscriptions, the mosque's foundation was laid by Raushan Mohammed and was completed by Mohammed Hashim and Syed Mukkarram Ali in the Hijri year 1223 (around 1808 CE). A second inscription on the mosque's reservoir notes that the water reservoir was constructed later by Syed Mukkarram Ali in Hijri 1328 (around 1910 CE). Architecturally, the mosque bears resemblance to the Dewan Bazaar Masjid and the Juma Masjid of Cuttack, highlighting a common regional style of Islamic architecture
