In the urban heartbeat of Patna, right beside the ever-moving crowds of Patna Junction Railway Station, stands the grand Jama Masjid—a structure that blends timeless spirituality with the pulse of a modern city. Located off New Market Station Road, nestled within the Fraser Road Area, this mosque is not only a place of prayer but also a living symbol of the city’s Islamic heritage. Believed to have been established in the mid-20th century, the mosque rose in importance as Patna’s commercial and transport sectors grew. Its proximity to the station made it a magnet for travelers and traders in need of a quick prayer space, but over the decades, it grew into something far more significant—a religious, cultural, and social epicenter for the Muslim community in central Patna. The architecture of the mosque is striking: a large central dome rises above a white-and-green façade, flanked by two minarets visible from the busy roads around.
