A significant Qadri Sufi saint born in Baghdad (21 Ramadan 491 AH), later based in Allahabad (now Prayagraj), where his dargah is located in Himmat Ganj. He was renowned for his deep spirituality, long life (allegedly 708 years), and teachings.
Hazrat Munawwar Ali Shah was a descendant of Junayd Baghdadi and a disciple of Shaykh Abdul Qadir Jilani of the Qadri order. He migrated from Baghdad to Allahabad, living a deeply spiritual life modeled on devotion, teaching, and service. He is widely respected for his reputed longevity (claimed around 708 years) and continued spiritual influence. His urs (death anniversary) is commemorated on 3 Jamadi ul-Aakhir. His teachings and legacy continue to be honored, with followers visiting his shrine seeking blessings and spiritual solace.
