Sajjadia Masjid, situated on Dharamshala Road near Khazanchi Haat, is a modest yet dignified mosque serving the residents and visitors of Line Bazar, one of Purnia’s most active and densely frequented localities. Located amidst hospitals, pharmacies, eateries, and street vendors, this masjid quietly commands respect for being a spiritual refuge in an otherwise bustling commercial zone. Its name, “Sajjadia,” reflects deep Islamic roots, likely drawing inspiration from Imam Zain ul-Abideen (Ali ibn Husayn as-Sajjad)—a revered figure known for his piety and devotion. Staying true to its name, the masjid cultivates an environment of quiet prayer, introspection, and spiritual humility. The structure of the mosque is simple yet pleasing. With its whitewashed walls, clean tiled flooring, and subtle green trimming, the masjid offers a clean and peaceful setting for prayers. Though not large in size, it efficiently accommodates around 100–120 worshippers during regular salah times, and up to 200 on Fridays and Ramadan nights. Inside, the mihrab is elegantly designed, with tiled panels and a simple mimbar for the khutbah. The prayer area is carpeted and cooled by ceiling fans. Many passersby, especially relatives of hospital patients, often stop by to offer a prayer, grateful for a quiet place amid personal trials.
