Perched atop a gentle mound in Khilanganj, the Dargah of Hazrat Khilan (Khalilullah Shaheed) is deeply revered in Sasaram. Located in Khilanganj near Laxkariganj, the Dargah Hazrat Khilan / Khalilullah Shaheed is a serene spiritual landmark in Sasaram. Though modest in size, the place holds profound significance, believed to be the final resting place of a respected martyr-saint. Covered by a simple white dome and marked by minarets, the shrine reflects humility—a stark contrast to more elaborate memorials, yet radiates genuine spiritual warmth. Though small in scale, the Urs fosters deep community unity—families across religious and social lines come together, sharing food, prayers, and devotion. Customs and Offerings Visitors bring chadars (shrouds) and small flags, tying them to the shrine entrance—a sign of respect and wishful blessing. Management & Care The shrine is overseen by a group of local caretakers, many from families who have served across generations.
