Tajpur Dargah Jama Masjid, situated in Kasba Ahar village near Chakpahar Road, is both a local mosque and the dargah of revered Pir Makhdum Shah Jahani. The site is a notable pilgrimage destination within Samastipur district, particularly for its vibrant Urs fair, traditionally held just before Bakrid (the Eid al-Adha) during the Islamic month of Zul-Hijjah. Thousands attend from Bihar, Jharkhand, Kolkata, and neighboring Nepal, crossing communal and religious lines in sincere devotion. Locally, it's said that Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb granted land—50 bigha for the cemetery and 24 bigha for the upkeep of associated faqīrs—to support the dargah. Architecturally unassuming, the shrine comprises a domed tomb and adjoining prayer hall. Devotees tie colorful chadars, offer incense, and recite Qur’an verses at the saint’s mazār.
