Gulshan-e-Nasim, also known as Masjid-e-Wasim and Khanqah Sharif, is a revered Sufi spiritual center and mosque located in Sarkar Nagar on Bhadrak Bypass Chandbali Road, near Puruna Bazar, Bhadrak, Odisha (PIN 756100). This Khanqah was established in the mid-20th century by two spiritually gifted brothers—Hazrat Sayed Nasim Akhtar Quadri (RA), also known as “Bade Baba Jaan,” and his younger brother Sayed Wasim Akhtar Quadri (RA), lovingly called “Mama Jaan.” Both were spiritual successors of Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jilani (RA) and belonged to the Qadriya Silsila, a well-known Sufi order. Hazrat Nasim Akhtar was deeply inclined toward spirituality from a young age and is said to have spent much of his youth in meditation and seclusion near the Damodar River in West Bengal. The Khanqah complex, featuring a striking blue minaret, has since evolved into a hub for religious devotion, spiritual learning, and communal harmony. It attracts people from various backgrounds and faiths, offering Quranic instruction, Sufi dhikr, and a peaceful atmosphere for reflection. Today, Gulshan-e-Nasim stands as one of Bhadrak’s most respected religious landmarks, continuing the spiritual legacy of its founders.
