The structure referred to as "Kushak," meaning "King," was built during the reign of Sultan Firoz Shah Tughlaq between 1351 and 1388 AD. It likely served as a hunting lodge or "Shikar Ghar" for the Sultan. Constructed from rubble and sand, the building features three arched openings, leading into three separate compartments. Positioned on a 5-meter-high terrace, it offers a commanding view of the surrounding area, adding both a functional and strategic aspect to its design. This structure is a testament to the architectural ingenuity of the Tughlaq period, blending utility with aesthetic grandeur. Kushak Mahal, also known as Shikargah, is a historical structure built in the 14th century by Firoz Shah Tughlaq, a ruler of the Tughlaq dynasty in Delhi. The building is situated within the grounds of Teen Murti Bhavan, which now houses a museum dedicated to India's first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, and is near the Nehru Planetarium. The structure is near square-shaped, featuring three open bays, each divided into three compartments.
