Dhai Seedhi Ki Masjid, located at the Medical College Campus, Kohefiza, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh 462001, is one of the oldest and smallest mosques in India, often referred to as the smallest in Asia. Built in the early 18th century as part of the Fatehgarh Fort, it was commissioned by Dost Mohammad Khan, the founder of modern Bhopal, during the fort's construction. The mosque, situated atop a watchtower near Gandhi Medical College and opposite the Taj-ul-Masjid, was designed as a modest, functional space for guards to offer namaz without leaving their posts. Its name, "Dhai Seedhi" (meaning "two and a half steps" in Hindi), derives from the two-and-a-half steps leading to the worship area, which spans just 16 square meters. Constructed with simple architecture, the mosque reflects the practical needs of the time and holds historical significance as Bhopal’s first mosque. It remains open daily from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM, serving as a notable religious and historical site within the Hamidia Hospital courtyard, drawing visitors for its unique size and heritage.
