Saifia Hamidia Unani Tibbiya College (SHUTC), located on Khandwa-Burhanpur Road in Burhanpur, Madhya Pradesh, was established in 1962 by the Unani Tibbi Education Society of Burhanpur. The college was named in honor of two distinguished personalities: Dr. Taher Saifuddin Saheb, the spiritual head of the Dawoodi Bohra sect, and Alhaj Hakeem Abdul Hameed Saheb, the founder of Hamdard National Foundation and Chancellor of Jamia Hamdard, New Delhi. SHUTC is affiliated with Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Indore, and is approved by the Central Council of Indian Medicines (CCIM). The college offers the Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery (BUMS) program, which integrates traditional Unani medicine with modern medical subjects such as surgery, gynecology, and public health. Admission to the BUMS program is based on the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), followed by counseling through the Directorate of AYUSH, Government of Madhya Pradesh. In addition to academic offerings, SHUTC operates the Saeeda Hospital & Research Centre, a 150-bed facility that provides clinical training and research opportunities for students. The campus is equipped with modern infrastructure, including laboratories, a library, herbal garden, hostels, and sports facilities, supporting a comprehensive educational experience.
