Aastana Ameer-E-Millat is a prominent historical Islamic shrine situated in the village of Ashrafpur Kichhauchha, within the Tanda tehsil of Ambedkar Nagar district, Uttar Pradesh, India. This site is renowned as the dargah (shrine) of the 14th-century Sufi saint Sultan Syed Makhdoom Ashraf Jahangir Semnani, a key figure in the Chishti order of Sufism. Born in 1285 CE (708 AH) in Semnan, Iran, Semnani was a descendant of Prophet Muhammad through Imam Hussain. He migrated to India and settled in Kichhauchha around 1346 CE after extensive travels, where he established a spiritual center promoting peace, tolerance, and Islamic teachings. The shrine, constructed shortly after his passing in 1386 CE, stands as a testament to his contributions to Sufism, with the main mausoleum built on a small hill and adorned with intricate marble work, tiles, and glass decorations. The complex encompasses mosques, madrasas, and langar (community kitchen) facilities, serving as a hub for Islamic learning and devotion. The site holds immense religious significance, drawing pilgrims from across India and abroad, particularly during the annual Urs celebration on the 28th of Muharram. It is believed to possess spiritual healing properties, with devotees visiting for prayers and rituals.
