The Tomb of Muhammad Ghaus in Gwalior stands as a monumental testament to early Mughal architecture and the profound spiritual legacy of its namesake. Muhammad Ghaus, born in 1500 CE, was a revered Sufi saint of the Shattari order, a musician, and a spiritual luminary whose influence permeated the Mughal court. His association with Emperor Akbar is notable; during Akbar's reign, Muhammad Ghaus was instrumental in the emperor's acquisition of Gwalior Fort in 1526. Its square plan is adorned with four hexagonal corner towers, each surmounted by smaller domes, and a central dome that was originally embellished with blue glazed tiles, now weathered over time.
