Baba Ki Dargah in Chichli (Gadarwara Tehsil), Narsinghpur District, is a revered Sufi shrine known for its deep spiritual atmosphere and long-standing reputation as a place of peace and healing. The dargah is dedicated to a local Sufi saint lovingly called “Baba” by devotees, believed to be a saint who lived a life of simplicity, service, and divine devotion. People from different faiths — Hindus, Muslims, and others — visit the shrine to seek blessings, healing from ailments, and fulfillment of wishes. The dargah is especially visited on Thursdays and Fridays, which are considered auspicious days for offering prayers (dua). 2. Architecture and Surroundings The dargah’s structure is modest yet spiritually rich. It features: A white-painted dome at the top of the main shrine. Arched entrances with traditional Islamic patterns. A courtyard where visitors sit for prayer or reflection. Chadars (cloth coverings) offered by devotees as symbols of respect. The shrine is surrounded by trees and open green land, enhancing the tranquil environment. During annual Urs celebrations, the dargah is decorated with lights, and qawwali performances fill the air with devotion and remembrance. 3. Annual Urs and Local Traditions The Urs (death anniversary) of Baba Sahib is celebrated with great enthusiasm, attracting devotees from Gadarwara, Narsinghpur, Chhindwara, and nearby villages. Rituals include: Recitation of Fatiha and Naat. Offering of chadar on the mazar. Community langar (free food). Night-long qawwali mehfils.
