The Dargah of Hazrat Sahabuddin Rahmatullahi Alaihi, affectionately known as Kotwali Wale Baba, is one of the most spiritually revered shrines in Panna, Madhya Pradesh. Hazrat Sahabuddin (R.A.) was a saint renowned for his deep spirituality, divine wisdom, and dedication to spreading the message of love, compassion, and peace among people of all communities. His resting place at Benisagar Mohalla has become a significant pilgrimage site where devotees from across the region come to offer prayers and seek his blessings. The saint was called “Kotwali Wale Baba” because of his close association with the area near the old Kotwali (police station) of Panna, where he spent much of his time guiding followers and helping those in need. His dargah stands today as a beacon of harmony and faith, symbolizing the age-old Sufi tradition of unity between people of all religions. Every year, during the Urs Sharif of Hazrat Sahabuddin (R.A.), the dargah witnesses a large gathering of devotees. The celebrations include Qawwali performances, Fateha (prayers), and Langar (community feasts), all conducted in an atmosphere of devotion and brotherhood. The dargah’s peaceful surroundings and spiritual energy make it a cherished place for reflection and prayer.
