The Dargah Hazrat Allama Tehseen Raza Khan, often referred to as Dargah Tehsinia, honors Allama Tehseen Raza Khan, a distinguished Islamic scholar born on November 11, 1927 (14 Shaban 1348 AH), in Bareilly, the spiritual hub of the Barelvi movement. As a descendant in the family line of the movement's founder, Imam Ahmed Raza Khan Barelvi (Ala Hazrat), he earned the title Mohaddis-e-Barelvi for his profound expertise in hadith sciences, alongside mastery in Arabic, Persian, fiqh, and Sufi traditions. His early education began at a local madrasa near Mirzai Masjid, followed by advanced studies at the renowned Jamia Mazhar-e-Islam in Bareilly, where he immersed himself in religious sciences under esteemed teachers. Allama Tehseen Raza Khan's scholarly contributions emphasized the preservation of Ahl-e-Sunnat wal Jamaat teachings, including defenses of traditional practices and commentaries on Islamic jurisprudence. He was a key figure in promoting Sunni Razvi scholarship, guiding institutions and libraries dedicated to Islamic learning. The dargah, constructed as his mausoleum following his passing on an unspecified date in 1998 (1420 AH), reflects the simplicity of local Barelvi shrines, functioning primarily as a mosque for daily prayers, Jumu'ah congregations, and occasional scholarly discussions.
