Under his guidance, he established a fatwa committee in 1870, laying foundational work for the Barelvi movement by countering emerging reformist ideologies like Wahhabism, which he explicitly refuted in his writings. As the father and primary teacher of Ahmed Raza Khan Barelvi (1856–1921), Naqi Ali Khan imparted rigorous education in rational and religious sciences, shaping his son's polymathic legacy. The dargah itself was erected in 1880 following Naqi Ali Khan's death, transforming his family residence in Mohalla Jasoli into a sacred mausoleum.
