Eidgah Sohawal is one of the most significant religious sites for the Muslim community in the Sohawal region of Satna district. Established several decades ago, the Eidgah serves as a central open-air prayer ground where congregational prayers for Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha are performed. Traditionally, Eidgahs are built outside city or village centers to accommodate large gatherings, and the Sohawal Eidgah continues that legacy, drawing worshippers from nearby towns and villages. The structure features a wide open field surrounded by boundary walls and a mehrab (arched niche) marking the qibla direction for prayer. The Eidgah also serves as a communal hub—beyond prayers, it becomes a space for social bonding, community announcements, and religious discourse during festive occasions.
