The Masjid Molsari in Sehore is one of the oldest neighborhood mosques located behind the SP Office in the historic Kalar Mohalla area of Qusba. The mosque is believed to have been constructed during the early 20th century by local craftsmen and residents who sought to create a dedicated space for prayer and community unity. Built with traditional red and white stone, the mosque’s design is simple yet elegant, featuring a single dome and a modest minaret that resonates with the peaceful charm of old Sehore. The name “Molsari” is thought to have originated from the Molsari tree (Indian Medlar) that once stood near the mosque’s entrance, symbolizing purity and shade—qualities valued deeply in Islamic culture. Over the decades, Masjid Molsari has served not only as a place of worship but also as a center for community education, Quranic recitation, and local gatherings, especially during Ramadan and Eid celebrations. Regular maintenance and local devotion have preserved its traditional essence while subtle renovations have enhanced its comfort for worshippers today.
