Jail Wale Baba R.A. Dargah is one of the most revered spiritual landmarks in Seoni, carrying a deep sense of devotion and mysticism. The Dargah is believed to be the resting place of a pious Sufi saint affectionately known as Jail Wale Baba (R.A.), who spent a significant part of his life spreading the message of peace, love, and service to humanity. According to local oral history, the saint’s spiritual journey was marked by acts of compassion and miraculous healing, which drew people from all walks of life—Muslims, Hindus, and others alike—seeking blessings and guidance. The Dargah is situated close to the old Seoni jail premises, hence the title “Jail Wale Baba.” The structure combines traditional Islamic and regional architecture, featuring a white dome, green-tiled entrance, and marble flooring that gives the shrine a peaceful and sacred aura. Throughout the year, devotees visit to offer chadars, light incense, and pray for spiritual healing and fulfillment of wishes. During Urs (death anniversary of the saint), the Dargah becomes a vibrant center of devotion, filled with Qawwali, langar (community meals), and recitations of duas in memory of the saint.
