This local mosque and shrine honors Hazrat Shah Shabbir Miyan, a revered Sufi saint of the 17th century whose legacy is rooted in the propagation of Hanafi-Sufi traditions in northern India. Born in the early 1600s, Shah Shabbir Miyan was a disciple in the Chishti and Qadiri orders, known for his ascetic life, teachings on divine love, and miracles attributed to him by devotees. He settled in Bareilly, where he passed away in 1672 (1083 AH), and the dargah was established soon after as a simple mausoleum over his grave, evolving into a functional mosque for daily prayers and Sufi rituals.
