The Lila Gumbaj Ki Mosque is an architectural masterpiece built on a high plinth, which elevates the structure, giving it a grand presence. The mosque features a distinct frontage with a central arched entrance, flanked on either side by two lateral arches, creating a symmetrical and harmonious appearance. Originally, the mosque had three entrances: one on the east, one on the south, and one on the north, allowing easy access from multiple directions. The mosque is adorned with minarets that are strategically placed around the structure. These minarets are intricately designed with horizontal cornices and mouldings, adding a sense of elegance, and are further decorated with niches, enhancing the visual appeal of the mosque. The mosque is crowned with three domes, with the central dome being the most striking feature. This central dome has a fluted design, which gives it a sense of depth and dimension. It is also painted in vibrant, colorful patterns that make it stand out, contributing to the mosque's name, "Lila Gumbaj," meaning "colored dome." On the northeast corner of the mosque, there is a rectangular ablution tank, which was traditionally used for ritual cleansing before prayer. The tank is accompanied by a deep drain in front of it, showing the thoughtful consideration given to the practical needs of the worshippers. Inside the mosque, the prayer hall is marked by three mehrabs, which are decorative, recessed prayer niches that indicate the direction of Mecca. These mehrabs are beautifully adorned with intricate carvings, and at the center of each mehrab, there is a suspended kalash, a decorative motif symbolizing auspiciousness. The kalashes are elegantly carved with floral designs, further adding to the mosque's refined beauty and spiritual ambiance.
