Ahmad Shah I, also known as Ahmad Khan before ascending the throne, was a significant ruler of the Muzaffarid dynasty and governed the Gujarat Sultanate from 1411 to 1442. A grandson of Sultan Muzaffar Shah, the founder of the dynasty, Ahmad Shah I played a crucial role in shaping the early history of the sultanate.

Additionally, he held Sheikh Ahmed Khattu in high regard, who is buried at the Sarkhej Roza in Ahmedabad, a place of great religious significance. Another key figure in his spiritual circle was the Bukharan Sheikh Burhan-ud-Din, also known as Kutbi Alam, who was the father of the famous Shah Waliullah.
