The construction of the Jumma Masjid and its associated institutions was meticulously overseen by the President and the Building Committee of the Anjuman-i-Islam of Baroda. The project was undertaken with the invaluable assistance of Alfred Coyle (ESQR), the State Architect, who provided the architectural design for the mosque and its attached buildings. The Muslim community of Baroda remains deeply indebted to him for his contribution in shaping the structure. This monumental work, completed in 1912, was made possible through the generous and empathetic support of Maharaja Sir Sayajirao Gaekwad, the ruler of Baroda. His patronage played a significant role in the realization of the mosque, and it was built by the loyal and dedicated Muslim subjects of Baroda in honor of their faith and the visionary leadership of the Maharaja. The completion of the Jumma Masjid in 1912 stands as a testament to the cooperative spirit between the Maharaja and the Muslim community, reflecting both their shared devotion and mutual respect.
