The Dargah-e-Aaliya Najaf-e-Hind stands as a prominent Islamic historical site in the rural landscape of Jogipura, a village in the Noorpur block of Bijnor district, closely associated with the nearby village of Kanakpur in Najibabad tehsil. This Sufi shrine honors Syed Raju, a revered saint whose legacy is intertwined with Mughal courtly traditions. His father, Syed Allaouddin Bukhari, served as a trusted deewan (minister) in the royal court of Emperor Shah Jahan, reigning from 1627 to 1658. Renowned for his noble conduct and administrative acumen, Syed Allaouddin held significant influence, which extended to his son's spiritual journey. The dargah itself emerged in the mid-17th century, likely around the 1650s, following a profound miracle attributed to Syed Raju during his lifetime. Legends recount that the site became a focal point for divine intervention, drawing pilgrims seeking spiritual solace and healing—often described as a "hospital for spiritual diseases." The shrine's architecture reflects traditional Mughal-era Sufi influences, with a simple yet sacred enclosure housing the saint's mazar (tomb), where devotees perform ziyarat (visitation) and offer prayers. It remains under the custodianship of the Uttar Pradesh Shia Central Waqf Board, preserving its role as a beacon of interfaith harmony in the region. Situated approximately 14 km from Najibabad town and 42 km from Bijnor city, the dargah is accessible via the Mussoorie Express train to Najibabad Junction, followed by local buses or rickshaws to Jogipura. Its enduring appeal lies in its embodiment of Sufi principles of devotion and accessibility, continuing to magnetize thousands annually for Urs celebrations and personal supplications.
