Banjari Wale Baba, located at Moti Bagh, Shastri Market Chowk in Raipur (postal 492001), is both a revered shrine (mazār / dargah) and place of worship for many. The site is associated with the saint Syed Sher Ali Agha (also known locally as “Banjari Wale Baba”), who — according to local tradition — came from Afghanistan around 1965 and settled in this area of Raipur. His reputation for spiritual blessings and miracles attracted devotees from various walks of life. After his death in 1982, a shrine was constructed in his memory. Over time, the dargah gained popularity not only among Muslims but also among people of other faiths — the shrine reportedly welcomes devotees of different religions seeking blessings, reflecting a heritage of communal harmony.
